Show Us Your Life ~ Favorite Picture Ideas

Hey y'all! Today we are showing off our favorite picture ideas.

For me, the best pictures are snapshots.  There is nothing better than capturing a moment that you will forever remember.

I didn't have a professional photographer during/after the birth of my son.  Honestly, I didn't even think about it, but I will forever cherish this photo of the first time I saw my precious baby boy!

In 2010, we hired Cheryl Day Photography for our family pictures.  We met her at a local park.  She did a great job at capturing moments.  Nothing was planned.  We just went with it.

I mean seriously, how precious is this picture!

Priceless!  Look at their faces.

I will remember this feeling forever.

I love outside pictures.  Mason was having so much fun finding little treasures on the beach.

There are thousands of ideas for pictures, but it's all about capturing the memory, right?  Don't miss a moment and cherish your pictures forever!

Homemade Valentine

Hey!  I hope y'all had a nice {heart} day!  We did, but honestly it was more about Mason. Isn't it always about the children? HA!

I found a few cute homemade ideas this year that I really wanted to try.  So we started with our Valentine's Mailbox.  So easy.

Wrapped a cereal box in red paper.

Decorated it with heart stickers.

Used a packing blade to cut a hole for the opening.

Wrote Mason's name on the box.

Using the same blade, we cut two holes in the side/top of the box for the handle.  Don't laugh...we used a nylon dog collar for the handle.  Hey! It worked!

Mason was so excited to take his box to school.  He said it was because his friends were going to put candy in it and then he was going to eat it all!  UMMM...NO!

Mason was most excited about making gifts for his friends.  It may have been because he ate the candy along the way.  He was a great helper.

I just love these cute printable tags that I found here.

People are so generous to share their own designs for others to use for free!

I used our photo printer, since it prints color, and printed them on white card stock paper.  Then cut them out and used the hole punch to punch out the circle.

We filled the cello bags with orange slices for the boys and apple gummy slices for the girls.

On the back of the tags, we wrote, From: Mason.  He really isn't writing his name, but he held the marker and I helped him.

Once we wrote his name, he looked at it and said, that doesn't look right!  That's not my name!

Mason put the ribbon through the tag holes and we tied up the bags.

He wanted to make Valentine's for his teachers too.  So we used the 'apple of my eye' tag and gave them an apple instead of the gummy apples.

You could totally use real apples or oranges as shown in the original post, but let's be real, most kids would rather have the candy.

And we're ready to go to school!

I woke up V-Day morning to this cute little box.  Nope it wasn't jewelry.  I'm not a huge jewelry wearer.

It was an ipod!  WOOHOO!  I'm loving this on my walks (which I haven't done lately)!  I kinda feel bad.  I only gave my love a card.  It's hard when you stay home and aren't actually bringing in a paycheck.  I feel like I'm buying him a gift with his money (even though he says it's our money).

So anyway, Mason racked up as usual.  Cards and gifts in the mail and lots of good stuff from school.

This kid loves getting mail.  He always wants to check the mailbox when he gets home from school.

See this face!  I told ya!  He loves mail!

He said, Hey! I got a card and an ice cream card (gift card to McDonald's).

Then he says, I got a green ticket!

Kinda smart actually.  He said it was a ticket to ride the boat and the merry-go-round.

He knows you have to use this to get the ticket to ride at one of our local parks.

Smart Boy!

Show Us Your Life ~ Organization Tips

Hey y'all!  Another one of my favorite topics is organizing.  I don't know about you, but I'm always looking for new ways to organize.

Last year I posted about these shoe organizers.  We still have them up and use them everyday.  You can read more here.

I have a 'I love organization' board pinterest.  You can check it out here.

I have found so many ideas on Pinterest.  There are some talented and creative people out there and luckily they are sharing their ideas with us.

I love this linen closet.  I feel most of the time I am organized, but the end result is not this pretty.

This blog  is amazing.  Lots of great ideas and they are all pretty!

 IHeart Organizing

Organizing makes me happy!  I can't wait to check out your ideas!

I guess we have rats! HA! Happy Friday!

Show Us Your Life ~ DIY Projects

Hey y'all!  Today we are talking about our DIY projects and linking up with Kelly's Korner.  I'm so excited.  This is one of my all time favorite topics.

I am definitely one of those people who say (when shopping and looking at magazines), I can make that myself.  Most of the time, it means, my husband can make it for us.  And, he normally will!  Yes, I'm a lucky girl!

I just can't see paying $200 for something that I can make for $50 or less in some cases.  I'm not cheap.  Maybe I'm just frugal or is that the same thing? Either way, we get what we wanted, it looks great, and most of the time will be made to last!

A great example was just a few months ago.  My husband asked me what I would like for my birthday.  I wanted some ledges/shelves I saw on the Pottery Barn website.  Well, of course they were very expensive, but it was the only ones I found that I really liked.

And these are the ones my husband made.  He did a great job!  I love them! And guess what?  They only cost us $35.

My diy chalkboard here.

Diy Cornice Board here.

I have to say, I love Pinterest and I have lots of ideas just waiting for me.

My Pinterest DIY& Crafts board here.

One of my favorite projects that I haven't done yet is the moss letters.  Really the only reason I haven't yet is because I couldn't find a 'K' in the size I want.

You can find the Moss Letters tutorial here.

This is a great craft for Spring.

I'm looking forward to seeing your DIY projects.  Thanks for visiting!

Random-ness

Hey y'all!  Seriously, where does the time go?

When I was in high school, time was the slowest ever!  I remember sitting in my last class of the day, continuously looking at the clock, thinking, is it 3:25 pm yet!  Yep, that is when the bell would ring, and you were FREE!  WOO HOO! Oh and by the way, I never did well in my last classes.  I was more focused on the ringing of the bell!  HA!

Now, 3:25 pm means my baby is waking up from nap and my 'free' time is o.v.e.r.!!

Mason is wearing underwear and a coat and he says, "I'm ready to go outside to play".  Umm... no, you're not! HA!

Well, another month in 2013 is gone.  Yep!  It's 7 days in to February and honestly, I don't know what in the world I have been doing for those days.  Let's see.

I have a little Spring Fever!  I ordered Antibacterial soaps from Bath & Body Works, and room sprays.  After I placed my order, I realized I chose all Spring scents. And, isn't this box the cutest ever!  It made me smile opening the ugly brown box and then seeing blue and white plaid on the inside.  Ok. I know.  It's the little things, but hey kudos to Bath & Body Works!  And, also, let me tell you, the room sprays are the best.  I keep them in the bathroom and they work wonderful.  One of them will last close to a year.  They are concentrated to you only need one little squirt and you are smelling honeysuckle for hours.

On to The Bachelor.  Yes I watch it and yes I love it!  Sorry.  I know it's drama, but I like Sean (I liked him on Emily's season too).  I think he's real and genuine and let's face it, easy on the eyes! Sorry babe!  I really do hope the best for him.

I had not watched the Bachelor or Bachelorette in years until last year when I watched Emily's season and honestly I thought she was just ok.  There always seemed to be something about her I didn't like, but I did liked Sean.

So anyway, what I wanted to tell you, is if you do watch, you have to read this blog.  Oh. My. Goodness!  This girl is so funny and to me, she is on the money with her recaps.  I will confess I have read the spoilers.  I couldn't help it.  I had to know if crazy Tierra made it to the end.  Seriously, Sean.  What are you thinking!?  She's Got To Go!!  I won't say another word.

Tomorrow our SUYL topic is DIY!  One of my favs.  I'll share what I've done and what I plan to do.  I'll also share some of my recent pins.

Until then... Y'all get on out there and make it a good day!
