WOW, am I ever so glad to say those words. The weather here is not quite 'Fall like', but I'll take it over the HOT terrible summers that we have had in the past few years. Today is rainy and the high is 79! It's still pretty humid here, but hopefully not for much longer.
2009

I'm looking forward to getting out my harvest and Halloween decorations this weekend. We love the cooler weather. I'm excited about visiting pumpkin patches and planting mums. It's the little things that make us happy!
2010

I can't wait to get pictures of our little pumpkin this year. I love to compare the pictures from previous years.
I've often thought of ways that I can make a difference. Mostly, in the way of volunteering; however, so far the opportunity hasn't passed by me yet. I know that having a child opens the door to many volunteer situations, but until the day comes where I'm called, I'll look for little things because little things can often make a huge difference in someone's life or even in your community. This morning, Mason and I made a difference and it felt great! We didn't have to leave this house. Just a simple click of a button. Here's how we did it!

While shopping at Wal-Mart yesterday, we picked up a few containers of yogurt. Not just any yogurt. We like the Dannon Oikos with the fruit on the bottom. Mason now loves it too! I noticed some of the containers had the bonus lid on them. The lid is for 'Give Hope with every Cup' to help fight breast cancer. Since this lid was a bonus, Dannon will donate 20 cents every time someone goes to this website: www.cupsofhope.com and enters the code on the lid. Dannon will donate up to $1.5 Million. That is amazing!

Mason says, "Ummm, it's good, Mommy"! Even though it was small, we made a difference and I hope you can too!
Mason went to a couple of birthday parties here recently. One was back at the end of August for Savannah at Jumpin' Jax in Garner. It is one of those indoor bouncy type places. Thank goodness it was inside since it was still 90 + degrees outside.

Mason had fun, even though, he wasn't quite big enough for most of the play area. He always finds a way to make the most of any situation.

He ran around and played with the balls on the floor. He did get in one of the bouncy houses with Daddy, but he didn't like the bouncing part. Mason would much rather run around and play with the other children. He just LOVES kids. He's such a social butterfly. He must get that from me. :) And of course he ate ice cream and cake, one of his favorites.

The other party that Mason was invited to was for Savannah's brother, Jake, who turned 2. This party was at Centennial Park in Garner. A very nice park. We have never visited it before, but there was a nice big covered area for parties.

Once again, Mason had a ball. He ran around with the other children. He played with sidewalk chalk, balls, and we pushed him in the swings.

He wasn't interested in cake and ice cream this time. He just wanted to run around and play. We were so thankful for the weather. This was our first day of true Fall like weather. Even though it was dreary and damp, we loved it!
Mason and Chase are still playing once a week. Through the summer, it's been so hot that we are only playing inside, but since Fall is right around the corner, we may broaden our horizons. Maybe visit a park and actually play outside. Actually, we have not been to play in a couple of weeks.

First Mason was sick, and then I got it and then Chase and Alexa were sick. Mason started out with allergies, but he was running a low grade fever, then he got so congested. I was a bit worried, so of course I called the doctor's office. Luckily, I was able to speak to a nurse on the phone and after giving her his symptoms, she confirmed that it was, in fact, an allergy attack. I didn't realize that a child could run a fever with allergies, but apparently they can. We are going back to visit Chase and Alexa tomorrow, hopefully they will still remember us.

Isn't she cute with these precious hair bows? Mason just loves Alexa. He wants to hold her every time we visit.
Kevin and I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary this year. We spent the weekend at Grammy and PawPaw's house. They were nice enough to babysit for us so that we could have a date night. We had a great time. We went shopping, saw a movie, played air hockey and went to dinner. It was nice to spend just a little time alone. Actually, that was the first movie in a theater that we've seen since Mason was born. Really?!! It's true....your life really does change after you have children, but we wouldn't change a thing.
Happy Anniversary to my husband! Here's to many more years together!
Happy September! We are one more day closer to Fall and I can't be more excited. Our family loves colder weather, especially Fall. Don't get me wrong, we like the beach and pool, but unless we are near water.....UGHHH, we don't like the heat. This summer was another brutal one. Weeks without rain, weeks of 100 + degree temps. For a while, it didn't seem like we were going to get a break.
Can you believe this is Mason exactly one year ago? He was 15 months and Grammy was buying his first pair of shoes.
Today is only the first day of September and I have already put out our NC State plaque by the front door and our NC State flag (note to self...I need to get wreath to match....so obsessive)! Now, we need some NC State Men's basketball. This morning was 60 degrees outside. I actually opened the windows for about an hour. NICE!!
GO PACK!!
