How many years?

Hey y'all!  I just recently took a trip to Minnesota to visit my high school bestie, Kristi.  We talked and talked, and cooked, shopped, and talked.  HA!

And we went to a parade!

Through our conversations, we realized we have been friends for almost 25 years!  She was 15 and I was 14.  Seriously!?  It was so surreal holding her baby.  Looking at Kristi, I still see a 15 year old.  I'm sure she would appreciate that! HA!

I wasn't sure what to expect when visiting Minnesota.  Honestly, I was only going to see Kristi and Brayleigh, but let me tell ya, it is beautiful country.  Everything was so green and healthy looking.  Almost like our Spring here in NC.  Normally for us, by the end of the summer, the grass is turning brown, plants are dried up, and the flowers are gone because of the heat and no rain.

We went to a craft fair (that's what I call it).  I guess, a Fall festival type of event.  Really neat.  Everything was set up in barns.  You walk through and shop.

And of course no trip to MN is complete without visiting the Mall of America.  I'm not much of a shopper, especially in a mall, but this was a must see!

Lego Land

Yes!  Those are all legos!  I've never seen so many!

An amusement park, inside the mall!

Shrimp anyone? Bubba Gump restaurant!  There were a TON of restaurants in the Mall.

Kristi also took me to Cabela's.

What a neat place?!  It was more like a museum and aquarium.

I was thrilled to see this little one....

And enjoyed every moment with Kristi!

I can't wait until my next visit!

Looking back

Hey y'all!

Back to school, huh?!  I thought once Mason started back to school, I would have all of this extra time on my hands.

Well, not so much, but it's all good.  I guess I would rather be busy than sitting around bored and feeling sorry for myself!  HA!

I've really enjoyed my new adventure with Thirty-One.  As a matter of fact, I treated myself to a little somethin' somethin'!  I have to represent, right?!

Pretty huh?  I love the grey with turquoise!

So, Mason started back to school last week.  So far, so good!  At first he was a bit confused as to why he was in a different class.  We a postcard in the mail about his orientation date and time, and the card said he would be in the elephant class this year.

He said, I'm not an elephant.  I'm a zebra (last year)!  Once we told him he would have a new teacher and meet new friends, he seemed fine with it.

Can you believe this is last year?

And here he is one year later!

Just subtle differences.  He is losing the baby/toddler look.  He's still handsome as ever!  And such a ham!  This boy can keep me laughing, well most of the time!

He is doing great in school so far.  Only one day where he was not a happy camper.  He turned over a princess table.  Apparently, he was upset, saying, "I'm not a princess.  I'm a prince".  He also got into some trouble because he said he couldn't stop talking.  His mouth wouldn't stop!  HA!  That's what he said.  See, a little ham.

Where's August?

Hey y'all!  Seriously, where did August go?

The summer is gone.  Well, not the heat.  We'll still have summer weather for another month or two.

I'm not complaining too much because Fall is my favorite time of year.

We did have lots of fun in August.  Caity, Mason's cousin spent a few days with us.  We went to Marble's Museum, took a picnic to the park, made cookies, and played and played.  I know Mason had a ball.

Monster University cookies!

Mason said this dog needed a bath because he was stinky!

Driving Miss Caity! HA!

Little Miss Eva had her first swim.  She's so stinkin' cute!  I could just eat her up!!

She is such a good baby!

Caity was an excellent helper!  I need her around all of the time!

And of course, Mason made a new friend as soon as we got to the park.

What Mom?!  I thought this was a cute picture.

One of our friends invited several of us to her community pool.  And even though it was overcast that day, we all had a great time!

Mason stayed in the water the whole time. Little fish!

I sure hope y'all had a great summer!  Did you get to do everything you wanted too?
