Weekend

We had a great weekend. We spent Saturday shopping, running errands, going to the park, and eating dinner at a new place. Mason got some new shoes (tennis shoes). Really neat Cars shoes that light up. Of course he loves them. We tried them on in the store and he didn't want to take them off.

Mason was so proud of his new cars shoes. He wanted to carry the bag to the car. "It's mine, Mommy" "My car shoes"!!

We also went to Porter Farms in Willow Spring and bought some beautiful mums. We have gone to that place for the last 9 years and we love it. They always have such fresh products and great prices.
We'll go back in a couple of weeks to get some pumpkins. Since it's still so warm here, the pumpkins won't last through November so we thought we would wait.

Daddy was proud of his purchase too!

Daddy wanted to visit a gun shop in Angier, so we stopped by there too. Mason and I waited in the car while Daddy looked around.

"Look Mommy, I see plane"!

Ok, now he's bored..."Go Mommy"!

Merry-Go-Round

Mason and I often visit Grammy and PawPaw during the week. Sometimes we spend the night, go shopping, out to lunch, and just play. Last week, we visited and we went to the mall in Fayetteville. Mason got some new shoes, we ate lunch at Chick fil a, and then Grammy and Mason rode the Merry-Go-Round. We weren't sure how Mason would react, but he seemed to have fun.

Mason had a fun day!!

Happy Fall Ya'll

WOW, am I ever so glad to say those words. The weather here is not quite 'Fall like', but I'll take it over the HOT terrible summers that we have had in the past few years. Today is rainy and the high is 79! It's still pretty humid here, but hopefully not for much longer.

2009

I'm looking forward to getting out my harvest and Halloween decorations this weekend. We love the cooler weather. I'm excited about visiting pumpkin patches and planting mums. It's the little things that make us happy!

I can't wait to get pictures of our little pumpkin this year. I love to compare the pictures from previous years.

Just a little, makes a difference

I've often thought of ways that I can make a difference. Mostly, in the way of volunteering; however, so far the opportunity hasn't passed by me yet. I know that having a child opens the door to many volunteer situations, but until the day comes where I'm called, I'll look for little things because little things can often make a huge difference in someone's life or even in your community. This morning, Mason and I made a difference and it felt great! We didn't have to leave this house. Just a simple click of a button. Here's how we did it!

While shopping at Wal-Mart yesterday, we picked up a few containers of yogurt. Not just any yogurt. We like the Dannon Oikos with the fruit on the bottom. Mason now loves it too! I noticed some of the containers had the bonus lid on them. The lid is for 'Give Hope with every Cup' to help fight breast cancer. Since this lid was a bonus, Dannon will donate 20 cents every time someone goes to this website: www.cupsofhope.com and enters the code on the lid. Dannon will donate up to $1.5 Million. That is amazing!

Mason says, "Ummm, it's good, Mommy"! Even though it was small, we made a difference and I hope you can too!

Party like a toddler

Mason went to a couple of birthday parties here recently. One was back at the end of August for Savannah at Jumpin' Jax in Garner. It is one of those indoor bouncy type places. Thank goodness it was inside since it was still 90 + degrees outside.

Mason had fun, even though, he wasn't quite big enough for most of the play area. He always finds a way to make the most of any situation.

He ran around and played with the balls on the floor. He did get in one of the bouncy houses with Daddy, but he didn't like the bouncing part. Mason would much rather run around and play with the other children. He just LOVES kids. He's such a social butterfly. He must get that from me. :) And of course he ate ice cream and cake, one of his favorites.

The other party that Mason was invited to was for Savannah's brother, Jake, who turned 2. This party was at Centennial Park in Garner. A very nice park. We have never visited it before, but there was a nice big covered area for parties.

Once again, Mason had a ball. He ran around with the other children. He played with sidewalk chalk, balls, and we pushed him in the swings.

He wasn't interested in cake and ice cream this time. He just wanted to run around and play. We were so thankful for the weather. This was our first day of true Fall like weather. Even though it was dreary and damp, we loved it!

Me and my shadow

Where ever Mason goes.....Pooh goes! We have to take Pooh everywhere with us. To eat, ride in the car, bath time (not in the bath tub), diaper change, play time, and especially in the crib. You name it, Pooh is there.

The really bad thing is Pooh is not machine washable. A first time Mommy's big mistake. I never thought of checking the label. Now I know. Poor Pooh, he is really starting to stink, but good luck getting him away from Mason.

It's actually rather cute to watch Mason interact with Pooh. I know I mentioned this in a previous post, but Mason talks to him. Hey Pooh! What you doing? Play cars? He'll talk to him about what's on TV or taking a bath. I enjoy listening to him. He has such an imagination!

Let's play

Mason and Chase are still playing once a week. Through the summer, it's been so hot that we are only playing inside, but since Fall is right around the corner, we may broaden our horizons. Maybe visit a park and actually play outside. Actually, we have not been to play in a couple of weeks.

First Mason was sick, and then I got it and then Chase and Alexa were sick. Mason started out with allergies, but he was running a low grade fever, then he got so congested. I was a bit worried, so of course I called the doctor's office. Luckily, I was able to speak to a nurse on the phone and after giving her his symptoms, she confirmed that it was, in fact, an allergy attack. I didn't realize that a child could run a fever with allergies, but apparently they can. We are going back to visit Chase and Alexa tomorrow, hopefully they will still remember us.

Isn't she cute with these precious hair bows? Mason just loves Alexa. He wants to hold her every time we visit.

9 years and counting...

Kevin and I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary this year. We spent the weekend at Grammy and PawPaw's house. They were nice enough to babysit for us so that we could have a date night. We had a great time. We went shopping, saw a movie, played air hockey and went to dinner. It was nice to spend just a little time alone. Actually, that was the first movie in a theater that we've seen since Mason was born. Really?!! It's true....your life really does change after you have children, but we wouldn't change a thing.

Happy Anniversary to my husband! Here's to many more years together!

One more day closer

Happy September! We are one more day closer to Fall and I can't be more excited. Our family loves colder weather, especially Fall. Don't get me wrong, we like the beach and pool, but unless we are near water.....UGHHH, we don't like the heat. This summer was another brutal one. Weeks without rain, weeks of 100 + degree temps. For a while, it didn't seem like we were going to get a break.

Can you believe this is Mason exactly one year ago? He was 15 months and Grammy was buying his first pair of shoes.

Today is only the first day of September and I have already put out our NC State plaque by the front door and our NC State flag (note to self...I need to get wreath to match....so obsessive)! Now, we need some NC State Men's basketball. This morning was 60 degrees outside. I actually opened the windows for about an hour. NICE!!

GO PACK!!
