What do you do all day?

Our day is full of surprises.  Usually it consists of Mommy chasing Mason all around the house.  Having a "mobile" baby is very challenging, but enjoyable too.  I remember the times that I could put Mason in his bouncy seat and take a shower.  Those days are long gone.

Mason loves TV especially Moose on Nick Jr.

Look Mommy, I'm climbing the steps now.

Come chase me Mommy.  I'm going into the closet.

 I love door stops!

Excuse me.  I'm taking my shower now.

What me?!  I didn't do anything!

Here is a taste of our daily schedule: (of course this can change from day to day)

7:00/7:30 am ~ Wake up, change diaper, Mason has his breakfast including a bottle and cereal/oatmeal

8:00 until 10:30 ~ Mommy has coffee and her breakfast (Mason has some of my breakfast too) while Mason plays and watches TV, Mommy and Mason play in the playroom because it's too hot to go outside.  Sometimes in the mornings we'll go for a walk (I walk, Mason rides in his wagon)

10:30 ~ nap time for Mason, Mommy takes a shower, has some computer time, cleans up the house. I usually try to do a load of laundry per day along with some other cleaning (vacuum, dust, mop etc.)

12:00/12:30 ~ Wake up for Mason, change diaper, have lunch.  Mason eats his lunch and some of mine too.

1:00 - 3:00 ~ Play time

3:00 ~ Bottle for Mason

3:30/4:00 ~ Nap time for Mason  During this time I finish some of the cleaning and start any preparations for dinner

5:00 ~ Daddy's home and Mason normally wakes up around this time

5:30/6:00 ~  Dinner

6:30 ~ Cleanup the kitchen, Mason plays with Daddy, Mommy gets some time to herself

7:30 ~ Bottle for Mason, put on jammies

8:00 ~ Bedtime for Mason and sometimes Mommy and Daddy :)

Good Night!

Father's Day

What a difference from last year!!  This time last year Mason was only 3 weeks old, so this is Kevin's 2nd Father's Day.  Despite the heat, I would say that he had a great weekend.  We stayed home, which is generally his favorite thing to do.  We watched movies, ate cookie cake, played in the pool (until it died).  We stayed in for most of the weekend.  It's almost too hot to do anything else unless you are by a pool.

WOW!  Look at the difference.  This is last year, 2009.

In the past week, Mason got his first tooth.  It has just recently come through the gums, but he has been a little crabby.  His nose is runny and he has been running a low grade fever.  He still maintains his great personality for the most part.

This is what Mason's pool looks like after only using it for a week.  Yes!  We will be taking this back to Toys 'R' Us.  For some reason, the one side of the pool started to bulge and create a waterfall.

Big Boy Pool

On Sunday after Mason's birthday party, we went to the hotel where the Pritchett's and Nana and Papa stayed.  This was the first time Mason was in a BIG pool.  He had a blast.  Kicking, splashing, moving his arms like he was really swimming.  We all had a great time.  The weather was beautiful and it was nice to go to a pool for a while.  Kevin (and me too) could have stayed there all day.  Judging by the pictures, Mason may turn into a fish like his Mommy and Daddy.

Birthday party

Mason had a great first birthday.  Other than it being 95 degrees outside, the party turned out well.  We served BBQ, coleslaw, potato salad, pasta salad, baked beans, rolls, tea and lemonade.  You can't get more Southern or summery than that meal.  HMMM!   It was so good too!

For his first party, I decided to make a lot of things myself.  Including, cupcakes, birthday banner, invitations, sugar cookies for the party bags, and the beverages.  We catered most of the other food except for the pasta salad and baked beans which Nana and Grammy made.  There were several children that came and from what I could tell, everyone had a good time.

I can definitely see pool parties in Mason's future.  Especially if it's going to be this hot in early June.  WOW!!  I think all of us would have went swimming had we had the opportunity.

Mason was in a great mood (as usual).  He had fun playing with the other children and of course riding around in his new wagon.  He did not like his birthday cake which was not a surprise to Kevin and I.  He was more interested in having ice cream.  It's ok though, there will be plenty of time for cake, candy, cupcakes etc.

There are lots of pictures so I will post some of them later.

Our Memorial Day Weekend - In Honor of Bailey

Our weekend started out great. We spent the weekend at Nana and Papa's house. Saw Caity's dance recital. Very cute. Mason was so good for about 45 minutes and then..... he was done. He was hot (the a/c was out) and he was sleepy. I don't want this to be a long post. The purpose is to honor our dog Bailey. Unfortunately, the weekend ended on a bad note. Bailey, I guess, had enough of Mason and sharing the affection and attention. He bit Mason. We knew it was coming. It was just a matter of time. We are all thankful that Mason is ok. We just want to move on....

Bailey was a wonderful companion and friend to me and Kevin for 10 years. We are very sad that we had to put him to sleep on such a sad, angry moment. In a way, Bailey is much better off where he is now. For the last 2 + years, we were constantly correcting him, yelling at him, locking him in rooms (to keep him away from others), terrified to take him in public etc. It was just a bad situation. We will miss you Bailey.

We will miss the old Bailey. The dog that you once were. Please rest in peace. No one will bother you now and we hope to see you again some day.

We LOVE you buggy!!
