Mason spent an afternoon and evening with his buddy Jack, while Daddy and I went to my Aunt Carol's service. Mason said, "I have to take Jack a snack". So, we made cookies and Mason was such a good helper.
Look at his face. He's already licking his lips. HA!
He was so proud of himself. He poured all of the ingredients in to the bowl and stirred and stirred...
...And then, he couldn't stand it anymore. He had to taste it. HA!
It was time to put the cookies on the pan to bake. Mason started picking out the chocolate chips and eating them.
Look at his mouth and you'll see the evidence.
Guess what! This is a healthier version of chocolate chip cookies and they are really good! No eggs, no butter... yep! I got the recipe from one of my friend's blog. You can see her blog here.
Here is the recipe:
1/3 c canola oil
1/2 brown sugar
1tsp vanilla
1/4 cup soy milk (I used almond milk)
1 cup whole wheat flour
1tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp cornstarch
Dash ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet)
1/2 brown sugar
1tsp vanilla
1/4 cup soy milk (I used almond milk)
1 cup whole wheat flour
1tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp cornstarch
Dash ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet)
Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet in another. Add the wet to the dry and fold in the chips.
Bake at 350 for 7 to 10 minutes.
I will say this, I've made them twice now and I doubled the recipe each time. I'm glad I did because they really were that good!
