Our master bedroom. When we first moved into our home (after downsizing), 2 years ago, my husband and I were like, "YIKES", this is a small master bedroom. Honestly, now, we find it comfortable and more like home.
The bedding and drapes came from JcPenney.
I've had this furniture forever and I still like it, but wish it were a bit more modern. I don't really like brass fixtures. I guess it would be an easy project to change them out, right?
I find it hard, too, to decorate with the darker furniture. I don't want our room to appear dark and I feel like the colors I chose are Fall colors. Don't get me wrong, I love Fall. I'm thinking I need to change things around for Spring and Summer. What do you think?
The pillows are from World Market and I like the fact that you can take them off to wash.
My side of the bed, of course, has books (which I never have time to read) and lots of smelly lotions! HA!
The husband's side of the bed has the remote! What else does he need, right?
Pictures over the bed. Frames over the bed are from Kohl's. The picture doesn't do them justice. They really are pretty frames with a hint of gold.
Display shelf and initial is from Hobby Lobby. One of my favorites stores, but not close to me at all. I love to go when I visit my Mom!
This is a poem that my Mom gave me years and years ago. I'm so glad I had it framed back then and it has been in my room since.

One thing I've seen on this SUYL which I like is having different bedding for Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter. That might be one way to get more light into your room. Just a thought...
