Teething and Weekend Plans

No new pictures to post yet.  Just a quick note to "catch up" on the past few days and the next few days.

Mason is still teething, I guess.  He chews anything that he can get his hands on and he is drooling something awful.  I say I guess because he has some of the symptoms of teething, but his gums are fine.  No swelling and no signs of teeth that we can tell.  We're fine with him not having teeth yet.  Kevin and I both feel like he's not a baby anymore if he gets a tooth.  BUT in reality, Mason will always be our baby, right?  LOL!  So, who knows when that first tooth will pop out.

Mason is fast approaching 9 MONTHS, WOW! His well checkup is in the next two weeks and I'm sure he'll get a "thumbs up" from the doctor.  He has been eating well, and sleeping well.

What is Mason up to these days, you ask?

Babbling, cooing, screaming (to get your attention), sitting up very well, drinking 8 oz. at every meal, eating cereal and oatmeal, fruit, veggies, playing, reaching for Mommy, still loves his paci, bouncing everywhere, scooting across the floor backwards ??, not crawling just yet, LOVES TV, especially Blue's Clues and Wonder Pets, likes books (turning the pages), loves lights and colors, loves taking naps (like Mommy), still not too crazy about being on his tummy for too long, very observant or nosey :), curious about how things work (gets that from Kevin).....

I could go on and on, but I'll spare all of the details.  He continues to be a very good baby and surprises us everyday with something new he has learned.  It's amazing!!  He's amazing!!

Valentine's Day

Mommy is a lucky lady.  I came home Friday to a house full of goodies.  My big surprise didn't come in the mail until later in the weekend, but I got a photo printer.  This is going to come in very handy and I'm excited to use it.  Kevin printed out a picture yesterday and the quality was awesome.  It was better than going to the store to have them printed or doing it some where yourself.  I was pretty impressed.

So, Nana and Papa came on Saturday to spend the day with Mason and to let us go out on a "date".  We had a good time.  We went to see a movie and went to Olive Garden.  It felt weird not having Mason with us, but it was nice to spend the day together.  At first, Saturday morning, we weren't sure that Nana and Papa were going to make it because this is what we woke up to:

Actually the snow was very light and fluffy so it didn't stick to the roads.  They just became a slushy mess, but by the afternoon, the roads were pretty much dry and the snow was almost gone.

Mason had a special first Valentine's Day.  He received lots of cards in the mail and Nana sent him a bib.  Grammy put a little something in his card too. :)  Caity drew lots of colorful pictures for Mason.  He loved them too.  He wanted to hold them by himself and look at them.  Nana read each one to him and he just stared at all of the pretty colors.

Can you tell Mason is teething?  Look at this picture.

I'm a big boy on the move

Mason is not crawling (yet), but boy he can scoot all over the place.  We always put him in the same direction during naps and at bedtime; However, we never know what we'll find once it's time to get up.  Here is what we discovered the other day.

He has managed to pull the comforter down from hanging over the crib and is at the opposite end.

Looks like we may be moving to the big boy tub very soon. Mason is really enjoying his bath time much more than he used to.  He loves to splash around and play with toys.  Usually, it's the after part of the bath that he hates.  Putting lotion on every part of his body.  He has such sensitive skin (after Mommy).  He doesn't mind this much anymore either.

8 Months and Teething

Happy 8 Months Mason!  AND Welcome to teething 101.

Well, I think we are officially teething.  Mason seems to have all of the "classic" symptons.  YAY for the parents!!  Poor little fellow.  He has the stuffy nose, "BLAST" diapers (that is what Kevin calls them), drooling like a water faucet, and chewing on everything.

As you can see from the pictures, he now loves these "biter biscuits".  At first, a couple of weeks ago, he didn't like them and turned up his nose.  Now, well, let's just say that I'm still finding crumbs.  LOL!! :)

I have no idea how the cookie landed on his shoulder.

It's bath time now!  That was the easiest thing to do after that mess!  Not much longer in this bath tub.  He will be graduating to the big boy tub soon.

WHEW!!! Now Mommy and Daddy need a break.  Who's going to give us our bath. :)

More Winter Wonderland

A day off from work, spending time with the boys, making baby food, catching up on chores.  Wow, you can get a lot done on a snow day.  Our winter storm has now gone into a Monday off from work.  We're not complaning.  The fluffy snow that fell over Friday night and into Saturday, has now turned into hard ice.  With the low temps that we had overnight the past two nights.  This may be the last day since today's high is in the 40's.  We'll enjoy another day with Mason and of course Bailey.  Once it warms up today, we're planning a walk around the neighborhood.

Here are some pictures that we took yesterday.

This is the road leading out of our neighborhood
