There's a first time for everything...

Mason has had a lot of firsts recently. He had his first trip to Nana and Papa's house and they gave him his first piece of chocolate. Notice it is a number 5 to represent him being their 5th grandchild. I don't know if Kevin and I will be able to save the chocolate until he is able to eat it, but we'll try (yeah, right). :)


We tried the Bumbo chair today and he loves it. I can't believe how well he is able to sit up in the seat. Of course his head is a little wobbly, but WOW he did really well. He thought he was hot stuff. Cute little boy! He's so adorable and I think he knows this already.

Mason has also discovered his hands and that he can use them to hit toys. The first couple of times were an accident, but I think he has the hang of it now. Smart boy!!

Back to work

So, I'm now a working Mommy. I've been back to work for 2 weeks now and well, I don't like it at all. During my maternity leave I wasn't 100% sure that I would want to stay home full time, but now that I'm back at work I guess I've had a change of heart. I have good days and bad days and of course the occasional crying spell. I feel like I'm missing out on Mason's life when I'm not with him. I know that he is being taken care of and I'm not worried during the day. I'm almost mad and jealous that someone else is enjoying my child during the day. (Sandy, I don't mean this towards you). I'm sure you understand. I only hope that in the year to come that I will have the opportunity to spend more time with my son. I know that this is both mine and Kevin's ultimate goal. As it was before we had Mason.

We have enjoyed our weekends and the evenings after work have been special too. Here are a few pictures from Mason's first birthday parties. Of course he was oblivious, but Kevin and I had a good time.

Bye Bye Maternity Leave

OMG!!! Maternity leave is over. I can't believe I have been home with my precious baby boy for the past 8 1/2 weeks and that special time has come to an end. I know we'll have plenty more "special times", but WOW!! time flies. I have enjoyed spending this time alone with my son and I'm grateful that I had this long out of work. I'm so afraid to miss something during the day. I know that he'll be well taken care of while Kevin and I are at work. I'm sure that all Mommy's have this feeling, but I never thought that it would be this strong. I guess this will only make our weekends even more special.

Mommy's Visitor

I had a visitor this past week. My friend Kristi from Minnesota. We have been friends since 7th grade and graduated High School together; However this is the first time we've seen each other in 7 years. I can not believe it has been that long. Gosh! Time really does fly by. We had a great week. We got massages, went out to eat several times and went shopping. Of course we talked about school and "girl talk". We enjoyed spending time together and I hope that it's not another 7 years before we see each other again.
